Cornish London Mini-Marathon Winner!

Cornish athlete, Hobie Martin, a member of the Newquay & Par Athletic Club / Bristol & West, won the Under 17 age group of the Virgin London Mini Marathon on Sunday. Full report here.

Cornish athletes selected to compete at the Virgin London Mini Marathon event in April 2012.

Five Cornish athletes will be representing the South West when they compete at the Virgin London Mini Marathon event in April. Run over the final 3 miles of the main marathon course in front of the massed crowds lining the route along the embankment and around the Houses of Parliament they will pass Buckingham Palace before finishing down the Mall and through the Marathon finish line. These young athletes have been through a rigorous selection procedure, reviewing the results of applicants from the seven Regional Counties of the South West. In the Under 13 races, Billy Craske from Polzeath, has represented Devon Schools as an Ivybridge student, Lily England's National standing over the winter got her into the six competing athletes in her age group, Charlotte Cayton-Smith won the Under 15 South West Championships for automatic inclusion, whilst under 17's Hobie Martin and Isabel Steele also won through on their performances at National level.
