The Cornwall Schools Combined Events
Wednesday 20th May 2009 at Par Track.
The event was well-represented by schools throughout the County – a list of those taking part can be found Here.
In the Minor Girls Pentathlon there was a clear winner in Ellis Davey (Truro High) with a close competition for the next placings with Abbie Hewitt (Penair) just beating Ebony Liedtke (Truro High).
Final team positions were: 1st.Truro High 2nd. Truro 3rd. Penair.
In the Colts Pentathlon it was a close tussle with Corey Cross (Penrice) winning from Tobi Ogunbodi (Truro) and Jordan Annear (Penair). Penair was the only school with a complete team.
The most closely competed competition with some superb performances was the Junior Girls Pentathlon with the top six girls going over 2000 points. The eventual winner by just 2 points was Lottie Richardson (Truro High) from her school colleague Jordanna Morrish and in third place Alice Vage (Penair).
Final team positions were: 1st. Truro High 2nd. Truro 3rd. Penair.
In the Junior Boys Penathlon it was good to see a different school take honours with Tom Shrewsbury (Wadebridge) from Jonny Mailes (Truro) and another Wadebridge pupil Sam Chun.
Final team positions were: 1.Wadebridge 2. Truro 3. Penair.
The Intermediate boys and girls competitions were held as trials instead of the full two day competition.
In the girls competition, Philippa Brett (Poltair) won from Ann Marie Keast (Brannel) and Emily Harris (Truro). Truro won the team position.

The boys competition saw a win for Ryan Penna (Truro) from Matt Tregay (Penair) and Max Holdsworth (Truro).
Final team positions 1.Truro 2. Penair 3.Wadebridge.

Teams to represent Cornwall at the South West Schools Championships at Exeter on Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th June will be selected soon and the schools and pupils notified.
